The art history students visited San Giorgio, situated on its own island across from San Marco. Here students learned about the lives of St. George and St. Jerome. Later, they visited the Doge's Palace to talk about civic identity and the representation of power in Venice.
Architecture students visited the first settlement of Venice located on the island of Torcello where they visited a church dating from the 11th century. The architecture students also visited the Ducale Palace to view typical Venetian Gothic style.
