This week, we took a class trip to Burano, one of the islands off of Venice. Burano is known for lace-making and for their colorful houses. Folklore says that all of the fisherman that would come home after a long day (maybe intoxicated) in the dark, they would often enter the wrong home! They then made a law to make your house a unique color on the block so that the fisherman could be sure it was their home. Truth or not, the island worked perfectly as a backdrop for our light and color assignment! The students were assigned to take the colors of the island and use them with light and shadow to create images. Here are our favorite five photos from this assignment!
